I am a fourth year doctoral student in Health Policy (Population and Data Science Track) at the University of California, Berkeley. I plan to graduate in Spring 2027.
I consider how policy and market changes impact patient welfare, especially affordabiltiy and quality of care. My doctoral research centers two important topics of interest in healthcare research: a) ownership of hospitals (for profit vs not-for-profit, private equity, etc.) and its impacts on patients, as well as impact of ownership change and b) medical debt, including its distribution across different patients as well as the policies that impact it. I also hold a specific interest in how policies impact inequities in health, built off my extensive pre-doctoral research experience on topics related to health equity as well as doctoral training as a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Health Policy Research Scholar.
